The Kedarnath Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, and it attracts pilgrims from all over India. The journey to Kedarnath is an arduous yet rewarding experience that combines spirituality with adventure. Here is an overview of the Kedarnath Tour itinerary.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Haridwar/Rishikesh

Arrive in Haridwar or Rishikesh, two important towns on the route to Kedarnath.Haridwar is well-connected by rail and road to most major cities, and Rishikesh is known for its proximity to spiritual activities like yoga and meditation.After arrival, visit the famous Har Ki Pauri ghat for the evening Ganga Aarti or explore the temples and ghats in Rishikesh.
Overnight stay in Haridwar or Rishikesh.

After breakfast, drive to Phata (approximately 6-7 hours by road).Phata is the starting point for the Kedarnath trek. This is where you will take a helicopter or continue with the trek.
The drive to Phata is scenic, passing through villages, forests, and rivers.Upon arrival in Phata, check in to your accommodation and rest.
If you are taking the helicopter service, you will depart the next day for Kedarnath by helicopter.Overnight stay in Phata.

If trekking, the journey begins early in the morning. The Kedarnath trek is around 16 kilometers (10 miles) one way from Gaurikund to Kedarnath Temple.
The trek involves a steep ascent and takes around 6-8 hours depending on your pace.However, there are pony services, palanquins, and other modes of transportation available to make the journey easier.Alternatively, take a helicopter ride from Phata to Kedarnath (a 10-15 minute flight). After reaching Kedarnath, check in to your accommodation or tented camps.
After a long journey, visit the Kedarnath Temple, where you can offer prayers to Lord Shiva.Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and the magnificent views of the surrounding mountains.

Start the day early with a visit to the Kedarnath Temple for morning Aarti and spiritual rituals.Explore the Kedarnath Temple Complex, which is known for its ancient stone architecture.After the darshan, visit the nearby Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi (where the great philosopher and saint Adi Shankaracharya is believed to have meditated).Spend time absorbing the serene atmosphere and enjoying the panoramic views of the Kedarnath Peak and surrounding mountains.In the afternoon, return to your accommodation and relax.Overnight stay in Kedarnath.

After breakfast, start your return journey back to Phata via the trek or helicopter.Once you arrive in Phata, drive back to Haridwar or Rishikesh (approximately 6-7 hours by road).
Upon arrival, check in to your hotel.If time permits, explore more of Rishikesh, visiting Lakshman Jhula, Ram Jhula, or other temples along the banks of the Ganges.Overnight stay in Haridwar or Rishikesh.

After breakfast, depart from Haridwar or Rishikesh to your onward destination.You can take a train, bus, or flight back to your home city.
